Florida's Space Coast Outdoor Recreation

From Cape Canaveral south to Sebastian inlet, Florida's Space Coast has over 70 miles of sunny and spectacular Atlantic Ocean shoreline that's perfect for fishing, surfing, boating, swimming, building sand castles to the sky, or just plain Rest and Relaxation. There are also miles and miles of protected wildlife refuges flourishing along the surf for wildlife viewing and bird-watching.

The Canaveral National Seashore is a natural refuge area of beaches and sand dunes where the giant loggerhead and green turtles come ashore in summer to lay their eggs. The marshy Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is home to more endangered species than any other refuge in the USA and features sea turtles, alligators, eagles and excellent driving and walking trails. Cocoa Beach is a popular resort famed for surfing and a lively nightlife. Cocoa Beach Pier stretches 800 ft. into the Atlantic Ocean, offering exceptional fishing and views. From Indialantic south to Sebastian Inlet is the largest sea turtle nesting area in the USA. Turtles come ashore from May to August and hatchlings struggle back to the ocean until late October. Turtle walks are offered on Space Coast beaches.
